European Roulette Review

roulette strategy

The game of roulette can be traced back to the early 18th century with most historians agreeing that this must have occurred in France. This is due to the rudimentary perpetual motion machine created by inventor Blaise Pascal. This machine is thought to be the predecessor of the roulette wheel which obviously went through a few modifications over the coming years but has since remained relatively the same.

European roulette at 666 is only slightly different from the American version; this is most notable with the double and single zero concept. The American version sports the double zero, this was adopted by the European's for a short while, however, they eventually decided to stick with their single zero game and managed to get better odds for the game.

Rules

The process is quite simple in roulette which is considered a game of chance rather than a game of skill. All the players really need to do is select a number or color and place their bets accordingly. In each game of roulette there are usually only between 1 and 8 players at a time. Players will all place themselves around the table and wait for the croupier to begin the game.

Once the croupier says “place your bets” players have a limited amount of time to make their decision on what and where they are going to place their chips. Once players have placed their bets the croupier will say “no more bets”. At this point he will start the wheel spinning, either by hand or by some other means, usually a button. Once the wheel is spinning at a decent speed he will proceed to drop the ball onto the wheel. The ball will eventually land up in one of the 37 numbered slots located on the wheel, once the wheel has stopped spinning he will then announce the winning number. All bets that are not on the correct number will be taken off the table by a rake used by the croupier and will be surrendered to the house.

Betting

There are two options used for betting on the table, these are for either bets on an individual number or bets that are placed on a group a group of numbers. This version of the game allows players to make either inside bets or outside.

Inside bets are those that are placed either on a single number or on a very small group of numbers, while outside bets refer to those placed on much larger groups of numbers.

A straight up bets refers to a bet made on a single number and chips are placed directly on top of the corresponding number.

Split bets are when the chips are placed on adjacent numbers on the line between them.

Street bets refer to bets on 3 numbers in a row shown on the roulette table.

A corner bet requires chips to be placed in the centre of 4 numbers where the line intersects.

There are many more betting options available for both inside and outside bets, so if you are keen on giving roulette a go check them out so you know what you’re doing when standing at the table.
