It was recently announced that the Nintendo Switch has now officially been the best-selling console within the US for nearly two consecutive years breaking the previous record held by the Xbox 360 which held the spot for 21 months back between August 2011 and April 2013 – but the Switch has also been able to benefit from a relatively quiet period of time in the market, so how do our favourite gaming platforms currently shape up?

Playstation and Xbox – The newest entries to the market have come this holiday season as both Sony and Microsoft have now launched their latest flagship devices with some huge performance upgrades from the previous devices that had launched nearly a decade earlier – whilst it’s still far too soon to make any comment on potential sale numbers, there has certainly been a lot of hype around both consoles which have benchmarked very well and have their dedicate fanbase, and once Christmas passes it’s largely expected that one of the two may break the 22-month record.

Mobile – Quickly rising to be the most used gaming platform, mobile has certainly performed well throughout this year with the lockdown efforts and ongoing pandemic.
